MISSION – To provide dog training programs for children and individuals with autism and their families.
VISION – To donate a portion of proceeds raised by community-based events and product sales to lifespan programs dedicated to those with autism.
Kathy observed a great many breakthroughs at her past obedience and agility classes for children with autism. Bonds were strengthened between the children, dogs and their family members; Parents often saw their children with autism become physically active, sometimes for the first time ever. Tears of joy were shed by many. Needless to say, the program will continue and she hopes to expand it to reach more children and adults everywhere.
Plans have been made to extend the “Paws Four” charity programs beyond Kathy’s current autism engagements by offering the same type of events to other charities. The first new program will be for Seniors (Paws Four Seniors). A proven increase of well being through the bond of human and animal is the end result, not to mention the educational benefit for senior dog owners, particularly those in assisted living and on limited incomes.
